The Philippine Society of Public Health Physicians, through its Board of Trustees, has signed and expressed full support for the Position Paper of Philippine Medical Specialty Societies. This paper was created in preparation for the Eleventh Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP11) to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC), which will be held from November 17–22, 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Philippine Society of Public Health Physicians (PSPHP) recently hosted a roundtable discussion focused on advancing a public health approach to substance use. Supported by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the event gathered its members to discuss the normative frameworks on substance use policy, proposed bills, and drug policy reform advocacy initiatives.

In an effort to revolutionize the country’s orthopedic and rehabilitation services, the Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine Orthopedic Center (POC) co-hosted the 1st National Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Summit on July 4-5, 2025, at the Bayanihan Center in Pasig City. Under the theme “Strengthening the Referral Systems and Developing Regional Centers for Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Care,” this landmark event gathered leading experts and professionals from both public and private health sectors to align on a shared vision of equitable and decentralized musculoskeletal care.

Quezon City, June 26, 2025 — In a heartfelt gathering at Silingan Cafe in Cubao Expo, public health professionals, drug policy advocates, and people who use drugs came together for the event “Songs and Conversations on Care and Solidarity.” Organized by the Philippine Society of Public Health Physicians in partnership with IDUCare and other advocacy groups, the event highlighted the urgent need to shift the country’s drug policy from punitive measures to health-centered, compassionate approaches.
